Realizing the importance of protection against pollution General Environmental Conservation Public Company Limited was established through mutual cooperation between the public and private sectors to offer treatment and disposal service for toxic and non toxic waste. With this unwavering determination to preserve the environment for Thai society, the Company has adopted internationally accepted management technologies for its waste management activities. It has also employed international quality management systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and TIS 18001, to create total satisfaction for its clients.
Operations follow strict procedures, in order to prevent industrial waste from affecting the heath and hygiene of the population. The Company also stresses the importance of creating a social conscience amongst industry operators and young members of society, by organizing seminars to promote an understanding of the correct methods of waste treatment for industrial plants in all regions of the country. Activities are also held to shape environmental awareness in youngsters. The company has joined hands with the Department of Industrial Work, the Bangkok Office of Education and Wat Samaedum School to support the Youth Environment Science Project Contest. The project emphasises building knowledge and skills with an environment focus, to inspire new experiences and creativity in young student. The Company also introduced the Young Scientists Development Project for Mangrove Forests. This project aims to encourage conservation of Bangkok’s last remaining mangrove forest areas, through a combination of research, compiling data and utilizing information to resolve problems. The goal is to maintain the integrity of the mangrove ecosystems.
Furthermore the Company implements activities that give in return to society, through support for the quality of life of communities adjacent to the factories. These areas are seen as an integral part of the Company’s environment. Innovative programs include mobile health clinics offering free consultation for the communities every 4 months. A team of medical physicians provide examinations and advice on basic health issues. The Company supports these projects on an ongoing basis, so that the relationship between the organization and the community creates positive benefits and maintains a quality environment for the future generations of Thailand.
